I work with brands, destinations and communities around the world, creating content for people with great visions and big smiles.
I really enjoy creating content to support a product, service or idea that makes a difference, and travelling solo for over a decade has helped me become a one man production company. I can shoot, edit, grade, sound record, write, produce, present and direct; a low-level cost effective solution compared to a full crew
I’ve delivered over 1000 keynote presentations and workshops on six continents, made hundreds of films and during COVID-19 have hosted over 200 community events and virtual workshops and presentations.
And I’ve worked with many brands over the past ten years, including Apple, Facebook, Jawbone, Hammock Bliss, Snow and Rock, Blacks, Thermarest and tourist boards on several continents.

HAVEN TENTS
As a long-time hammocker I was deliciously excited to find out about Haven Tents, a family run US-based company who have created a really unique lay flat hammock, which makes for a very comfortable night’s sleep.
I’ve spent many a night in each of the different sizes of Haven hammock tents, and have provided them with over 200 hundred hi-res product images from a variety of locations, as well as including their product in a series of YouTube films from my travels.
TRUSTED HOUSESITTERS
In Autumn 2019 my wife Em and I decided to save money, explore the country and decide which breed of dog we’d eventually settle down with. In Trusted Housesitters we found a solution that ticked all three boxes and soon after our third housesit we started working with TrustedHousesitters to produce blog and video content about our experience.
We were free to tell our story, which is exactly how we like it, and luckily TrustedHousesitters liked it too. Our Trusted Tale received over 5000 views on the first day, and we created a 60 second cut as a 59 second advert promoting the company’s Leap Year membership offer.
Our blogs for Trusted Housesitters:
We also ran an Instagram Takeover for TrustedHousesitters
And created another film, this time narrated by one of the pets :)
SALOMON
In September 2020 I joined the Salomon #AnyPathChallenge to encourage folks to head out on a non-motorised adventure to one of their favourite places.
I donned some gear and shared the adventure in an Instagram Story Feed, Grid posts and via film.
POWERTRAVELLER
I’ve been using Powertraveller products to charge my gear on adventures since my Murray River descent in 2009, and am proud to be an ambassador for their innovative solar systems, creating photographic and video content for all their products.
There’s also a special thrill to appearing on product packaging!
SWIFTY SCOOTERS
Swifty Scooters sponsored me when I took one of their cool little scooters around Japan in 2016, and we’ve been friends ever since. In 2017 I got my then fiancé Em a Swifty Scooter for Valentines Day and made this little film, just because I could. Em is now my wife, and I’m sure this had something to do with it!
Swifty continue to be great supporters, and even gave the YesTribe two custom branded scooters so people could head off on two-wheeled adventures.
Dryrobe
If there’s a cooler item of clothing out there, I’m yet to find it. I’m a big fan of Dryrobe and have worked with them (and generally worn their robes) for years. In 2020 I headed up a Leap Into Adventure campaign, and regularly provide imagery for their online presence.
ICE TRIKES
After riding over 1000 miles on one of their beautiful craft, ICE Trikes donated an Adventure trike to the YesTribe fleet so people could take it out on microadventures. For a maiden voyage, my wife Em and I decided to take the trikes on a weekend loop of London.
SMALL LUXURY HOTELS OF THE WORLD
In 2015 I travelled around the world for a few months making films about SLH properties, which are among the nicest hotels you can imagine! Yep, it was a pretty sweet job, although often I just stayed one night in each place and self shooting and editing on the move is fairly time-consuming. In six months I didn’t once find time to jump in a pool!
This 3 minute interview-based showcase isn’t my favourite for a number of reasons. Let’s just say, I’ve improved my use of sound since then!
Great Divide Tours
In 2006 Vic Widman was leading a 4x4 tour around Australia, when he pulled his convoy over to the roadside to say hi to a bloke who was skateboarding across the same country. That was the first time we met. Nine years later Vic invited me to his 4WD basecamp in New South Wales, where I created ten introductory films about his services.
Aquapac
Ever since Aquapac asked me to be an ambassador in 2012 I’ve been a loyal supporter. That year I decided to swim down the Missouri to show off their dry bags (that was tough!) and through the years have made a couple of films showcasing their brand and products.
This film focuses on the brand’s connection with Stand Up Paddleboarding.
KEEN
Keen Footwear’s Follow Your Feet campaign tracked ambassadors as they went about their usual lives. This was mine, and I just happened to be wearing the KEEN Wanderer ;)
In 2015 Keen ran a little competition as part of their European Made label. I shot this content and they edited it. Wish I'd smiled more!
In 2013 Keen dared me to make a film about their new Uneek shoe in just two hours. It’s a little clunky, but it took one hour and forty three minutes!
A phone-made vox pop draft for KEEN’s #BetterTakesAction at the culmination of SayYesMore's Waterbike Collective in 2017.
Tentipi
Tentipi are a Scandinavian company that makes the finest tipis know to man. Midway through an expedition along the Norwegian coast I popped together this promo film for their Zirkon tipi and Hekla Firebox
Kelly Kettle
A 60 second advert for Kelly Kettle with subtitles and instructions, all centred for direct use on Instagram if needed.
Tentsile Connect
A simple set-up guide for a unique triangular hammock called a Tentsile.
Hammock Bliss
Made on the banks of the Mississippi River, this was my first review for the Hammock Bliss sky tent, an all-in-one versatile hammock/tent option
PROJECT AWESOME
On Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings London's south bank comes alive with this free fitness initiative founded by Danny Bent. Project Awesome is more than just a club, it's a big, boisterous community full of colour. One morning I headed down to make a film about this awesome crew.
San Miguel Rich List
Having been selected onto the San Miguel Rich List (people who live the richest lives) in 2016 I was asked to create this little introduction to the party, seeing as I was off scooting around Japan and couldn't attend in London.
Rapture Camps Bali
In 2015 I spent a few months travelling around the globe, paying my way by making films and taking photos. Within a few hours of proposing an idea to a surf club in Bali, I landed on the Indonesian Island to spend two weeks at the Rapture Club. Surfing, making films and generally hanging out with holidaymakers. Could have been worse.
EVENTS
Wrekin Housing Group: Wrekin World Conference
In February 2020 I was the keynote speaking for the Wrekin World conference, in Telford, UK. Ahead of the event I grabbed my Swifty Scooter and hiked up the Wrekin before riding down, in the name of a short intro bit for the conference.
Escape to the Woods
Escape the City invited me to speak at and create a film about their microfestival for career change in 2015. It was a brilliant weekend, full of inspiration and ideas and it was worth making this film just to see the grin on founder Dom Jackson’s face as he watched it.
Uganda Marathon
The annual Uganda Marathon has raised over £1 million for local causes in the region of Masaka, and when the team asked me to head out and make a film about the 2016 event I didn't think twice. It's one of the best weeks I've had. Find out more on https://ugandamarathon.com/
SAYYESMORE & THE YESTRIBE
My YesTribe Story
Prompted by an invitation from a London Film Festival to show an advert about how adventure led to the YesTribe, I created this short not only for the festival, but to be shared as an introductory film on SayYesMore social channels and at storytelling events around the country.
Lotus Belle @ The YesBus
When I can use my creative skills to bring the price of products down (or even get them for free) on behalf of our social enterprise, SayYesMore, I do.
We brought in this gorgeous Lotus Belle tent to compliment the already magical YesBus, at the YesTribe’s countryside basecamp, and this film was part payment.
Waterbike Collective
The Waterbike Collective was conjured up on my own waterbike journey along the Norwegian Coastline. A year later we worked with Schiller Bikes and Keen Footwear to create a six month journey around 1000 miles of England’s canals and rivers, picking up over 100 tonnes of trash from the waterways.
This film was made by Russell Barnett, with my presenting/ narration.
FCLP APPLICATION
Uploaded with trepidation, this was the last stage of a long application process for the YesTribe to be a part of the Facebook Community Leadership Programme. Luckily, despite having only a few hours to create the video - and all using footage on my phone - we were accepted onto the FCLP year-long programme.
Other brands I’ve worked with are Bamboo Clothing, Powertraveller, Keen Footwear, Wrekin Housing Group, Hurtigruten, SCHILLER BIKES & Visit Norway, Hase Bikes
Films for Others
Sean Conway - Run Sean Run
With a length of Britain swim and bike already under his belt, Sean decided a run was in order to complete the trilogy. He was already looking very Gump-like, so the theme for the Running Britain trailer was set.
PADDLERS REUNION
During a reunion in Memphis, Tennessee, I didn't want to miss the chance to capture a few words from these paddling legends, all of whom have taken on the might of the Mississippi River, and many of them plenty more than that.
Meet the Meeks
An interview with the incredible Meek family in 2015, about their work to encourage families to be more adventurous, and ongoing plan to inspire kids to look after their planet.
Music Video: Rose Tinted Spectacles
One of my earlier films, in 2009 I directed and filmed this film in West Australia for up and coming singer songrwriter Emi Green.
Sarah Outen’s ‘A dip in the ocean’
In 2010 Sarah asked me to edit all the footage she’d taken on a record-breaking Indian Ocean row and compile a short documentary. What a woman!
The Blue Climate and Oceans Project
A promo film for the Blue Climate and Oceans Project
A Thank You
When an idea starts to brew it always helps when someone else believes in it, and you. It's our prerogative to surround ourselves with good people, the ones who say yes and inject enthusiasm and momentum into a plan.
As much as possible I self-fund my trips, and over the years there are so many people, companies and organisations who have helped make my projects a success with their initiative, support and generosity.
